I die.
I die of happiness just a little bit every time I see this perfect chunk.
We've been experimenting with foods for just a few weeks now. I am not completely committed to one kind of food intro plan, although I do enjoy the principles of baby led weaning simply because it's often easier and gives me less to stress about. The saying "food before one is just for fun" (which I believe to be coined by the authors of the baby led weaning book) rings in my head a lot. It helps me remember that this solid food thing is a slow process and there's really no need to rush it.
That being said, I also do enjoy experimenting with baby food when we get the chance. This particular day I tried some pureed carrots with my girl. She seemed to enjoy them and pulled the spoon into her mouth as fast as that tiny arm could coordinate each attempt. Of course, she'd likely do the same with any non food object at this stage as well. That's just a six month old for you.
I kind of have to laugh at the way in which doctor's (or at least doctors my kids and I have seen) like to speak within the "box" of the AAP guidelines. No, I am not going to stress out and make sure that my child gets three perfect solid feedings a day. I'm pretty sure if she is anything like her momma, she will soon find a passion for food....trust me.
At this point solids is just another fun step in the journey of babyhood and we are enjoying that journey together, even if it means more baths! ;)
